Great tool for Car2Go and Austin BCycle

I am living in downtown Austin and am constantly taking Car2Go and BCycle to avoid the downtown traffic. RideScout makes traveling downtown easy and allows me to see all the costs before I embark on my trip and even shows me traffic so o can avoid congested roads. I love being able to book a Car2Go straight from the app, and seeing how many bikes/docks are available for each BCycle station.

Real time transit with mobile ticketing helps

My favorite part of the new RideScout App is the transit combined with Mobile Ticketing. On my way from the office to the Bus Stop, I’m able to do a quick real time search of Transit and know how many minutes I really have to the stop. It usually gives me notice I have time for a beer while I wait. It is also nice to see bus stops along the route as I am traveling. It’s always good to see bikeshare and car2go where they exist in the city.

Awesome

This is awesome for going to school so I know how much money I have to bring in order to ride the bus to school and back and also pay for lunch

FB log in

No way

Requires Facebook login. No.

This app is not usable if you don’t have a Facebook account or simply don’t want to connect it (and its developers’ data use/privacy policy) to your Facebook account. That’s not how real-time transit is supposed to work, RideScout LLC. Shape up.

Kinda Cool

Just downloaded, but not had a chance to actually use. Facebook is NOT a requirement if you choose "skip" at the bottom. It is hard to see as the font is in white against a light sea green background. One feature of interest is the price calculation for you mode of transportation or calories burned. Look forward to putting the app to work during my travels!

Transit to bike share to walk trips?

Id use this app more if it could tie a BART trip to a bike share trip. All my BART options lead to long walks that pass up bike share stations.

Winnah

We need you down here in Newport News and Hampton Virginia it is up-and-coming fast every year I come down there is considerable growth and diversity and plenty of room for business... Since I commute between the two states including New York I cannot wait to try this app Im very excited for its existence.

Awesome

Nice step in the right direction with all the travel fragmentation out there.

Confusing map setup

I currently use the app for the B-cycle program right now. The map is not very dynamic, it seems that it only wants to let you put in a destination (rather than being able to move around the map manually), but then wont show all the b-cycle stations at said destination. If you try to manually move around the map to look at what stations are around the area, it starts automatically putting in directions based on your finger movements on the screen, and again, wont display all the stations. Message to the app developers- Please please update the map on this app, its very clunky! I always end up resorting to opening the internet on my phone and searching for b-cycle map layouts instead...which is supposed to be one of the purposes of this app. It makes using b-cycle a very time consuming experience if you dont know where all the stations are.

Great app

First Facebook is NOT required. I clicked "skip" it skipped and I use the app often. Times and directions are accurate and directions are good. Things Id like: Better tie in with Amtrak (Richmond, CA Amtrak isnt found) Ability to drag the pin to where you are (or want to start) instead of typing an address Keep doing updates and including different transport types. Note which types of transport are accessible for disabled users

Lacks step by step biking directions

I use ridescout to figure out the best bike route to take and this version doesnt let me select the bike route to give details. Also would appreciate turn by turn voice commands. Im using an iPhone 6s Plus..

Great concept but needs work

This is a great concept, but two serious flaws: 1. Its missing a lot of DC bus stops and doesnt seem to allow you to select a metro stop and view a metro schedule. 2. Theres no way to just map ride options on a different part of the map from where you are. It will only let you put in an origin and destination.

CTA Schedules broken in Chicago

Not a bad app and the interface is pretty. It is zippy. Here in Chicago the CTA route times are broken, which makes it pretty useless for me. Facebook sync was clunky. It launched the Facebook app but did not go to the authorize page. Had to go back to RideScout, click cancel and click the Facebook button again. Has potential. Sure wish theyd fix the CTA bug.

Couldnt get divvy to work on it

Not sure how great some parts are seems like it could work but 3 of 5 options were greys out without the ability to turn on.

Not showing bikes

For Chicago, the bike option is disabled. Thats ridiculous
